Lynx support the National Heritage at Westminster Abbey
01/09/2009
Westminster Abbey is steeped in more than a thousand years of history. Benedictine monks under St Dunstan first came to this site in the middle of the tenth century when it was marshland, establishing a tradition of daily worship which continues to this day.
The Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066 and is the final resting place of seventeen monarchs. The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II was held here on 2nd June 1953 and the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales on 6th September, 1997.
Lynx is very proud to have been awarded the security contract to work alongside the Beadles and Marshalls of the Abbey to help to maintain the security of such an intrinsic part of the national heritage.
Our contract started in September 2009 and we are responsible for managing the security of the admission of all visitors to the Abbey. We are pleased that the existing staff chose to join Lynx and we are planning to use the new “Welcome Host” training package delivered by Bob Crowhurst which helps staff to provide high levels of customer service which will be particularly useful when dealing with members of the pubic.
