Lynx Security Services Sponsor Charity Photographic Exhibition which raises a fantastic £15,500 for The Anthony Nolan Trust.
Over 250 people attended the Exhibition which was the idea of 19 year old student Ginny Wetherell, whose father, Jeremy Wetherell (late founder and Chairman of Lynx Security Services) sadly died of leukaemia last year. The Anthony Nolan Trust managed to find a suitable stem cell donor from Germany for her father and saves and extends the lives of hundreds of patients every year.
The Exhibition featured the work of 20 photographers ranging from A level students to professionals. Winners of ‘Best in Show’ for the amateur and professional groups were selected by the renowned photographer John Bulmer. The winning professional photographer was Nina Gustavsson and the winning amateur Sam Hoare.
Ginny and her family have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of everyone from sponsors through to guests. Stuart Lees of The Anthony Nolan Trust said, “I really congratulate Ginny for raising such an amazing sum of money for our cause.” Ginny said, “I am thrilled that we have managed to inspire people to give so generously to this life saving charity. The Anthony Nolan Trust runs a database of volunteer stem cell donors which it matches to patients with leukaemia in need of stem cell transplants. It needs young people under 40 to enrol as potential donors and anyone wishing to do so should visit the Anthony Nolan Trust website, www.anthonynolan.org.uk. The more donors they have the more lives they can save!”
Craig Pickard, Managing Director of Lynx Security Services said, “we at Lynx are proud to have been able to sponsor this successful event in memory of Jeremy and give aid to such a worthwhile cause. Lynx intends to continue to support the Anthony Nolan Trust as the Company’s charity of choice.”
