Lynx Security Officer Wins National BSIA Award
19/07/2011
Cyril Tatar of Lynx Security received an Outstanding Act award from Lynne Featherstone MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Equalities and Criminal Information at the British Security Industry Association's Annual Luncheon on the 13th July 2011.
In June 2010 Security Officer Cyril Tatar was working at a Lynx Security contract in the City of London when a fellow Security Officer suffered a serious heart attack. Discovering the unconscious and non-breathing victim Cyril immediately took full control of the situation. He ensured that an ambulance was called and started to administer chest compressions and mouth to mouth resuscitation. Even after the first team of paramedics arrived Cyril continued to assist them until additional paramedic support arrived on scene and relieved him before taking the victim to hospital. Thankfully, Cyril's colleague survived and has made a full recovery.
After the incident the paramedics told our customer, Katherine Thurlow of Knight Frank, that had it not been for Cyril’s immediate actions, determination and the application of his first aid skills the outcome would have undoubtedly been different.
After the award Lynx Managing Director, Craig Pickard, commented "We are very pleased that Cyril has received this deserved award for his outstanding actions in this incident. Lynx Security is very proud of the important work that all our employees carry out in many different security roles and it is fantastic to see them receive the recognition that they deserve."
