The Directors and Managers at Lynx work well as a team and pay careful attention to the needs of our staff. Our SIA Inspector noticed good practice with "The welfare of company employees being paramount to the company management." We work hard to communicate effectively between our workgroups and customers.
The combined experience and knowledge of the Directors and Senior Managers at Lynx provides unrivalled security expertise and a dedication to delivering the highest standards of security services as well as the introduction of innovative methods where appropriate.
Jeremy Wetherell - Chairman
Having graduated in Law at Cambridge, Jeremy went on to pursue a career in the Metropolitan Police and in British Intelligence. This exposed him to a wide range of Security environments in the UK and overseas and, at the same time, in every aspect of security and investigations. Jeremy's initial employment in the commercial security sector was as a Senior Kidnap Negotiations Adviser. Operating overseas in both political and criminal cases, he has advised governments directly on security matters. After this period Jeremy worked in the UK Commercial Security market as a Director of a BSIA company before setting up Lynx Security Services with a view to meeting the market demands for a carefully contained, highly professional organisation.
Craig Pickard - Managing Director
Craig graduated with an honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Windsor, in his home country of Canada. After four years with the accounting firm KPMG in Toronto, he left public accounting in 1985 to accept a management role with a major Canadian communications group. He moved to England in 1988 and held senior financial management positions with Guinness Plc and Fitch Lovell Plc.
Most recently Craig was the Managing Director of the UK subsidiary of the South African company, Gray Security, where he spent seven years developing a manned guarding business in the London area. Since 2001, Craig has overseen the rapid growth and development of Lynx Security, ensuring that quality and consistency of service combine to form the foundation for our services. Craig takes a personal interest in service delivery and is regularly seen visiting officers at customer sites at all hours.
Craig is the Chairperson of the BSIA South East Security Guarding Section committee.
Mary Wetherell - Director and Company Secretary
A founder member of Lynx, Mary gained her degree at Oxford. Once qualified she started work in Fleet Street, proceeding to various jobs in Marketing and thence to account handling for a major international advertising agency.
Her earlier career in advertising and marketing gave her great experience of client liaison and a firm belief in the importance of listening, establishing and discussing Clients' needs.
Mary has been an Executive Director of Lynx since the inception of the company.
Mike White - Operations Director
Mike has held senior roles in the security industry for over seven years with Securiplan, Initial Security and more recently as Regional Manager for St James Security. His wealth of experience in managing prestigious London based security contracts has strengthened the service capability of Lynx.
Mike has a keen interest in staff development and sits on the Skills for Security Expert Panel for the Development of National Occupational Standards as well as the Manned Guarding Sector Consultation Group. Mike is also a member of IPSA.
Mike is responsible for the complete satisfaction of our customers with our service delivery and the fulfilment of the employees that provide our services.
Howard Austin - Commercial Director
Having graduated in Commerce from the University Of Birmingham, Howard developed his management expertise with Kodak before moving to the security industry as Commercial Director of Chubb National Accounts.
Latterly Howard was responsible for Corporate Account Development within OCS and was also Account Director for the largest corporate account in London.
Howard has responsibility for the Lynx Business Development Strategy as well as translating customers' requirements into service proposals. Howard also works closely with customers and operational colleagues on commercial matters such as revised service proposals and contract administration.
Howard is a member of the BIFM.
Ian Noble - Human Resources & Quality Director
After spending 10 years in the Army, Ian began his commercial career managing a leisure business based in Scotland. This was followed by 6 years as a Senior Sales and Marketing Executive, with global responsibility, for Ferranti International, one of the United Kingdom's foremost defence manufacturers. This included in depth negotiations with foreign governments.
Ian's commitment to staff welfare and training, and his ability to understand the recruitment requirements of our business have been critical to the success of Lynx Security. Ian is responsible for HR and training as well as the Lynx Quality System and Health and Safety.
