Pro-Active Human Resource Management

From the first stages of recruitment Lynx goes a bit further with our approach to HR than most companies and than BS7858:2006 requires. At the recruitment stage, all staff need to fill out an application form on the premises, bring appropriate ID and be interviewed. Passports are infra-red scanned. Candidates are also invited to complete an aptitude test which tests English language skills. The recruitment and HR functions are removed from operations so that the need for staff will never override our selection criteria.

Once staff are recruited and deployed HR stay actively involved through weekly manpower meetings with the operations department. These meetings discuss vacancies, development and training needs, deployments and redeployments.

On-Site Visits - The Personnel Management Team visit every site and member of staff regularly. These visits are designed to boost the morale of staff, discuss any personal matters and to assess directly what more the Company can do to support the individual in their role.

Daily Mobile Supervision - Our Mobile Inspectors visit Lynx Security contract sites 24 hours a day throughout each week.

Site Clinics - For multi-manned sites, we conduct regular Site Clinics attended by the Contract Manager, Director of Operations and one other senior Manager or Director. At these meetings, site staff are encouraged to put forward suggestions about contract service improvement and to highlight any problems.

A Name Not a Number - Our HR team are on first name terms with most staff which helps them feel that they belong and shows that people are watching out for them and thinking of them and on hand to resolve any personal difficulties. Weekly manning meetings between HR and Operations departments review current staff against current vacancies so that staff development is continually reviewed and promoted.
