Overview:
A world leader in computer network services and advanced internet applications, our client contracted Lynx to improve and enhance the security function at its two major 24 Hour Data Centre facilities in central London. These facilities support the computer systems of some of Britain's largest corporations.
The client had, in the past, experienced high security staff turnover and inadequate reserve capabilities from its security contractor.
Lynx Assessment:
The site staff were identified as being very able but they had been getting little or no support from the previous contractor's management, resulting in high staff turnover and a disenchanted team.
The Data Centre security systems are very advanced and protect computer systems worth many millions of pounds. The establishment of a stable and well trained site team was identified by Lynx as being a key success factor. Hands-on contract management was lacking and required urgent remedy to support and drive the team.
Lynx Approach:
Full and comprehensive TUPE consultation with staff prior to contract commencement resulted in a 95% transfer of existing staff to Lynx.
The development of a bespoke training programme and the implementation of a site specific "Bench Team" for absence cover now give our client a dependable and effective service.
A dedicated Contracts Manager was appointed to hold regular meetings with both the client and the on-site Lynx team ensuring that the contract runs smoothly and the team staff are alert, well informed and highly motivated.
Result:
Our client now has a carefully managed service whereby the involvement of the client's security manager in day to day operations has become minimal. Staff turnover has reduced and the results of site training are evident in the excellent quality of the service.
